Welcome to the official alumni hub for the Football Industries MBA (FIMBA). This platform connects a global community of sports business professionals, industry leaders, and executives who have graduated from the world-leading football MBA programme at the University of Liverpool.
The Football Industries MBA (FIMBA) is a highly specialised Master of Business Administration programme dedicated entirely to the global business of football. Unlike traditional business degrees, FIMBA combines a core MBA curriculum covering leadership, marketing, and financial management with specialist football modules. The programme focuses on the professionalisation, administration, and commercial dynamics of the modern sports industry, equipping candidates with a 360-degree understanding of the game.
FIMBA is delivered by the world-class faculty at the University of Liverpool Management School (ULMS). Established as an elite hub for business education, ULMS holds prestigious triple-accredited status from the three leading international accreditation bodies: AACSB, AMBA, and EQUIS. The MBA programme is listed in the Financial Times's Top 100 worldwide, and it holds Tier One status in CEO Magazine's Global MBA ranking. This elite position places the school among the top management institutions globally, ensuring that FIMBA graduates hold a qualification recognised for its academic rigour and corporate relevance.
Established in 1997, FIMBA was the first MBA programme of its kind anywhere in the world. It was created to address a critical turning point in the sport: the rapid commercial expansion following the formation of the English Premier League and the reorganisation of the UEFA Champions League.
For over 25 years, the programme has adapted to the technological and cultural shifts within sports business. What began as a pioneering concept in Liverpool has grown into an international benchmark, producing hundreds of graduates from dozens of countries who now shape the global game.
FIMBA graduates possess a unique combination of traditional business acumen and sector-specific knowledge. This enables alumni to transition from other professional fields directly into senior positions within football and the wider sports sector.
The FIMBA Alumni Network exists to sustain the lifelong connection of our global community. Our platform provides the infrastructure for professional growth, ongoing education, and peer-to-peer collaboration long after graduation.
Membership is exclusive to graduates of the on-campus and online FIMBA programmes, alongside faculty and invited members.
